Short Description of the Camps
Goa (Social camp)
Situated on the west coast near the Arabian Sea, lies this small touristic state of India. Goa was the former Portuguese colony in India, one of India's most cherished places and a prominent place for travelers since many years for its remarkable palm-fringed beaches and renowned travelers paradise. Goa's special character with a dominant Christian background, western type of life, Portuguese style white washed churches, green lushy landscapes, dense coconut palm groves, sandy beaches make up the Goan landscape. With many music, dance and religious festivals, Goa has a very active life during the year.
Work will be focused on environment, eco-tourism and HIV/AIDS awareness among youth and general public using Arts as the tool in implementing this.
Kodaikanal (Teaching camp)
Volunteers will work together in inter-acting with local people and working together with them in environment protection and helping a Children's Home. Accommodation will be living together since cultural homestay is encouraged.
Kundapur (Environmental camp)
Volunteers will be initiating a development camp where renovation of the School Buildings will take place, planting of trees, planning an entire community center, and teaching English to the local children. This is also scheduled site for an orphanage, work may also include environment & bio-farming. Since the location is very close to South India's largest reserve forests, volunteers will also focus on some of the environmental issues affecting these forests.
Hyderabad (Social camp)
The work camp will be focused on a unique topic of creating awareness on world issues, and creating various games and theatre skits in bringing out peace.
