LegW16 Colico/Campsirago (Lc) Lombardia 21/3/04 4/4/04 10Vols
Volunteers will be divided in two working groups: one group will work in Colico and the other will stay in Campsirago (60 km far from Colico), a permanent voluntary Centre where all volunteers will be hosted. Colico is a small town surrounded by the Alps Mountains, close to Como lake, in the same area where Adda river gets into the lake. Legambiente, in collaboration with the Community for Disadvantaged Teenagers “Il Gabbiano” carries out a project for promoting volunteering service. The project, called “ The fertile Mind”, aims at adopting a natural area, retraining it and contributing to the revitalization through festivals, cultural events and interesting meetings. Volunteers cooperate with Legambiente local group involved in the project. There will be also some meetings with local students from the Tourist High School, in order to discuss about International Cooperation, Volunteering and Solidarity. In turns, a group of volunteers will stay in Campsirago, a Mediaeval village situated in San Genesio Park (60km North of Milan), where Legambiente has a “Permanent Centre for Voluntary Service and Environmental Education". Volunteers will work in the maintenance of paths and streambeds in the park.
Work: Environmental works for retraining and maintenance of the area.
Accommodation: Permanent voluntary Centre with all services (kitchen, bathroom, shower, bunk beds, garden)
Location: Province of Lecco, Lombardia region, North of Italy
Terminal: Milan or Bergamo-Orio al Serio airports.
