RESTORATION OF AN HOLIDAY CENTER
PROJECT: Les Aresquiers is a place which is welcoming holiday camps, group meetings as well as school discovery workshop. Since a few months, this organisation began to work with Concordia and decided to organise a workcamp in order to rearrange some buildings of this place. This place is wonderful, just on the beach. The volunteer will enjoy the Mediterranean Sea every day.
WORK: Wood working on an outdoor theatre and painting and indoor arranging in a building
LOCATION: Les Aresquiers is an isolated place along the Mediterranean Sea, at 5 kilometres Vic la Gardiole and 10 kilometres from Frontignan. It's 25km, of Montpellier, the regional capital.
ACCOMMODATION: In the bungalow
TERMINAL: Montpellier (train) then Vic la Gardiole (bus)

Restoration of ironwork in an old cemetery
PROJECT: This small rural town is situated on the border of two regions, Picardy and Nord-Pas-de-Calais. It hides several monuments that have an attractive and interesting architecture. The town council wishes to develop tourism in the area in order to help tourists discover the hidden secrets of the region and the town. Auxi was formerly a fortified town but today the castle of Auxi is reduced to ruins. Degraded by the weather conditions, these ruins need to be secured and made waterproof, and the archways need to be valorised. Seeing as the local organisations are quite dynamic, the town council have decided that a group of international volunteers would be able to unite different publics together around intercultural activities allowing the local population to feel as if they too are travelling the world.
WORK: Last year, the international volunteers worked on the ruins of the castle. This year, we would like you to work on the ironwork in the old cemetery which can be found at the feet of the historical and classified town church. You will clean, brush, and paint the ironwork of the crosses, gates and fences within the cemetery. You will be working in the centre of the town and will therefore meet many local inhabitants during your work time.
SITUATION: Auxi-le-Chateau is half way between Abbeville and St Pol en Ternois.
ACCOMMODATION: in tents
MEETING POINT: to be determined at a later date
EXTRA INFORMATION: Some activities will be organised in partnership will local organisations
