U/41 - Felines Minervois -15/06/2004 - 28/06/2004 - RENO
Languedoc Roussillon - 8 vol. (7 Inter + 1 French)
The project :
The dynamic association "Culture et Patrimoine" started to renovate the built heritage of the village of Felines Minervois. Last summer an international group renovated a barn. This year you are expected to renovate a bread oven and a medieval chapel in the village.
The volunteers will be divided into two groups; the first one will clean and consolidate the top of the chapel walls (work on high). The second one will renovate the bread oven: replacing the entrance vault, renovating the upper part of the cooking place, building a chimney. Then laying a new wooden carpentry to lay a stone roof.
Feline Minervois is a village situated in a rural and wine-producing area, 30km from Carcassone in south-west area of France, at the foot of the Montagne Noire. You will be close to the local population, particularly with the members of the "culture et patrimoine" organisation who expect you to bring information about the built heritage in your country.
Accommodation: in tents or on the second floor of the sheep. The place is quite isolated and not easy to reach. The life conditions will be quite basic but ecological and adapted to the place (dry sanitary, sun-showers). So be ready to this! The beautiful landscape is really worth seeing !
