NICE/53 Waseda (Tokyo) 10/09-21/09 CULT/KIDS 8 (5 int.)
Newly organized together with a special group formed for this project and a planning committee
of Waseda Earth Celebration Festival (WECF). Waseda is a university town, so most students leave
there in their summer vacation. This town is also famous for its active town planning to consider
nature and disaster management, as well as WECF since 2000 to activate the town. This workcamp is
expected to involve more locals into WECF and town planning, by global voluntary power!
W: We will help to prepare and run WECF by advertising it to local people, planning and running
“international shop/ exhibition”, setting up and cleaning the festival, etc. We are also planning to
visit some schools and welfare facilities as well as making “Green Map” to propose a new town!
S: Unique examples of town planning in each country. Bring some info.!
P: Exchange parties, excursion to Kamakura and many spots in Tokyo, etc.
A: Local building. SB! CV
L: Just a central part of Tokyo, but relatively much green around the place such as a river and a park.
T: Tokyo
Q: Motivation and flexibility to create a good festival and to exchange with locals including kids.
