Project OH - A 3 "Labyrinth": 12.09. to 27.09.2004
In cooperation with the “Museum of Lies”, Brandenburg, Open Houses organises a project on the shore meadows of the river Elbe in Koetzschenbroda, part of the city Radebeul in Saxony.
Within the frame of the Wine Festival the International Festival of Hiking Theatre takes place.
Under artistic guidance will be constructed a walkable labyrinth on the Elbe shore meadows. It will invite the visitors to take a deeper sight on their life. It will have different stations:
For example the entrance will be a big mouth and different sculptures will be build inside and outside the labyrinth.
In the center of the Hiking theatre performance is the question of Survial and so it will correspond to the Labyrinth.
As conclusion of the festival the work of art will - together with all artists concerned to the festival - be given to the flames and burnt into the hearts of thousand spectators.
With the FIERY FINISH, which is the conclusion of the Wine Festival and the International Festival of Hiking Theatre, there has grown a wonderful tradition concerned with the Museum of Lies within the last few years.
The Festival of Hiking Theatre is under the theme “Antique Games”. Within this setting will be build – outside of the festival site, which is situated in the historic center of Kötschenbroda, on the shore of the Elbe river – in common artistic work a wooden labyrinth to walk on for the visitors of the festival.
It should offer space for a bigger central place to be used for small theatre performances. And besides there shall be a lot of things to discover for the visitors on their “wrong” ways through the labyrinth.
After the awarding on Sunday evening all artists and guests will make a parade with the shore of the Elbe as final destination, to watch and disfruit the FIERY FINISH.
