ISL 22 STRATENA 28/08/04 - 11/09/04 VOLS : 15 TYPE: RECO
LANGUAGE: English
AGE: 18+
WORK: Reconstruction of the historical building in the Village of Stratena – cleaning of the garden, painting of inner walls/windows and some environmental works as well. Volunteers will help to create this building in to the relaxation center for local people.
ACCOMODATION: In the building close to the working place, mats and sleeping bags are necessary.
FOOD: Volunteers will prepare their food themselves (ONLY VEGEGARIAN) with the coordination of the host representatives.
PROGRAM: Hiking in beautiful natural surroundings in Slovak paradise (national park), trip to the nearest city of Poprad or Kežmarok - visits of museums. Many outdoor and freetime, mainly sport activities, lots of fun and many more.
LOCATION: Slovakia. Stratena is close to the highest mountains of Slovakia – High Tatras. This region is famous for its various geological formations and rare floral and faunal elements. Numerous waterfalls, gaping windows in towering rocks, steep slopes, rock steps and other peculiarities form the gorgeous wildlife of Slovensky Raj, which is by all rights translated into English as Slovak Paradise
REMARKS: Do not forget to bring sleeping bag and mat, working clothes, strong boots, gloves, raincoat, hat, some warm clothes and swimming suit......
