네팔에서 12월 20일부터 2005년 1월 5일까지개최되는 신년 특별 프로그램입니다. NIFC training center을 짓는 일을 하는CONSTRUCTION 을 주 활동으로 하며, 그외 기타활동으로 지역 학교와 현지주민들과 문화교류, 왕실 정원 방문, 트레킹 등도
하게됩니다.

New Year special workcamp-Nepal
Name of the Project: New Year Special Workcamp
Date: 20th December 2004 to 5th January 2005
Location: Patlechap, Godawari, Lalitpur, Nepal. Patlechap is located in Lalitpur district about 25KM south-east of Kathmandu. The place is closed to Godawari, a famous Royal Botanical Garden and it is located on the foot of Phulchoki the highest mountain around Kathmandu valley (2762 m.) Thousands of visitors visit this area every year. Climbing of Phulchoki Mountain and visiting royal botanical garden are activities of interest. It is a typical village settlement from ancient period. Several social scientists from different countries have passed their valuable times in this village for their social and cultural research.
Project: NIFC-Nepal is organizing workcamp in this village since 1996. It is one of the popular workcamp destinations for national and international volunteers. This year we have purchased some land in this village to build NIFC training center. It is a long-term and ambitious project. We are going to start this project from this workcamp. We do not have any financial support for this project; it will be 100% volunteer build project. We are also interested to show an outstanding example of voluntary service, so this building will remain ‘A BEAUTIFUL CREATION OF VOLUNTEERS’ in Nepal.
We will continue this work through international workcamp until finish the project. We really need workcamp and volunteers.
The work is physical, the first step of building construction. I.e. picking up stones, sand, digging, making flat area etc. Volunteer work 3-5 hours everyday. Saturday is holiday.
Extra Activities: working in local school, cultural exchange with local friends, observation tour of Royal Botanical Garden and village, trekking of Phulchoki hill, Christmas and New Year party in Royal Chitwan National Park.
Note: We usually celebrate New Year in Royal Chitwan National Park. The fee also covers 2 night 3 days package tour and Jungle safari in the park.
Food and Accommodation: NIFC arrange accommodation in a private ranted house. A shower will be available at the camp house, but not the standard you are used to from your country. Nepalese food like Dal (soup of lentil or beans), Bhat (cooked rice), Tarkari (cooked vegetable), is provided. This is the staple diet of the Nepalese and it is eaten everyday. The camp leader will try to offer some different foods but if you would like to enjoy a variety of meals please bring food from your own country. Volunteers will help prepare meals in turns.
