CPI 1 BARRA BIPPI
Kind: RENO-EDU
Dates: 16/04/05 - 01/05/05
Number of volunteers: 15 volunteers + 1 camp leader
Location: Barra, City of Napoli (Naples)
PROJECT & WORK: Barra is located at the border zone of the city of Naples. In old times it was a village in the surroundings of the historical city, capital of the biggest southern kingdom of Italy. Barra has actually depressed economy and culture, on the other side people are very open and there is a huge associative life.
Volunteers will renovate a room in one of the many churches of the zone, meet the young people of the place and discover the city.
The topic of the camp is education to peace. Many activities will be lead out of the work time around the idea of peace and for a fair world, according to the aims of the BIPPI initiative. A specific workshop will be made along the whole camp about the conflict in Burundi.
FOOD AND LODGING.
LODGING: Volunteers will be accommodated in a room depending of the local church. All hygienic services are provided. SLEEPING BAGS ARE REQUIRED.
FOOD: The meals will be prepared by the volunteers themselves. They will also take care of the cleanings in their accomodation in shifts.
TERMINAL: Napoli Centrale train station
Closest airports: Naples(Napoli) and Rome
