WB01 Point Reyes National Seashore, Marin County, Calif 10.07-23.07 ENVI 7 vols
Work: Volunteers will work at the Point Reyes National Seashore to preserve the natural and historical environment --removing non-native, invasive plants; maintenance of historic structures; and restoration/clean up of stream areas. Work will involve the use of some hand tools and can be physically challenging. No special skills are required, but high levels of physical fitness and sturdy boots are highly recommended. Weather in northern California can be very COLD (windy and foggy) on some days, warm on others. The beautiful coastal landscape, beaches, and wildlife sightings will be your reward!
Accommodations: In a campground with tents and showers, mostly outdoor cooking. Volunteers MUST arrive at meeting point in SF by 12noon on 10 July and will be taken back to SF on the afternoon of 23 July. Terminal: San Francisco or Oakland, California. Volunteers will be taken to Point Reyes Station (Marin County) which is 2 hours north of San Francisco. Requirements: Volunteers must have their own health/accident insurance. Must be physically fit, love the outdoors and be motivated to work hard. Conversational English important. Sturdy work boots, work gloves, raincoat, sleeping bag required.
