XA03 – LLIRIA “KEEP ON EYE TO OUR FOREST”

THE PROJECT AND THE WORK : XARXA with the collaboration of the regional government are going to clean the countryside and to keep watch on it in order to fight against the forest fire. Lliria and his region have a lot of countryside very dry during the summer. There is an important danger of fire there due to the sun and the weed So we are going to work in 2 group one is going to clean the rural route leaving the weed and the other one will walk in the countryside and make report about the situation. The works will start at 8.00 to 14.00.
THE GROUP: It will be made of 10-12 volunteers, 2 camp leaders will facilitate the relation between the village and the volunteers and also with the workers of the municipality. The volunteers will organise their activities, meals, manage their budget with the help of the camp leaders. The idea is that all decisions have to be taken collectively.
LEISURE ACTIVITIES: Will be organised by the group and the leaders, depending on local possibilities, some of them will be will be organised before. Meetings and activities alongside locals will be organised (introduction of the countries represented, international meals, parties). Volunteers should bring material introducing their countries - photos, slides, maps, recipes, songs, games, etc. Some activities will be made in the local area for example meeting with local organisation, youth groups etc..
ACCOMODATION: : in a local of the organisation .
PARTICIPATION FEE: 50? paying at the arrival
DO NOT FORGET: A back-pack, a sleeping bag, sun cream, sun hat, some warm clothes, working clothes, good shoes, a swimsuit, a torch light, your music, energy, good humour and something from your own country. A copy of your health insurance policy cover.
