사무국
MS14 Aalborg East 22.08.05 - 04.09.05 16 volunteers
Project:
The Urban Regeneration Project in Aalborg East works together with local institutions and citizens to encourage people in the area to fulfil their dreams and take ownership for their own area. This project is made together with one of the local schools, Mellervang skolen, which has about 550 pupils and 100 teachers. A great deal of the children (up to 20%) are refugees, 1. or 2. generation, mainly Somali or Arabic. The school and the schoolyard is worn down and boring.
Work
Volunteers will work together with teachers and about 115 children(10-14 years) in 4 projects to make the school more exiting. We are going to build a nature-playground in the trees, to cheer up the schoolyard with Chinese-figures, colours and plants, to fit out and decorate a cosy reading-corner in classrooms and to cheer up corridors with Chinese dragons hanging deom the ceiling.
Normal days we will work from 8am to 2pm but one day will be used to make an international evening, so bring cultural items, games etc.
Accomodation:
Volunteers will reside in classrooms with bath and kitchens; bring sleeping bag and air mattress.
Location:
Aalborg is the 4. biggest town in Denmark, situated in the northern part of Denmark.
Special requirements:
Youth interested in working together with children, to talk to them and to tell about their own country and culture.
