MS13 CIRCUS PYRA 14.08-23.08 FEST/KIDS 18+ 10 VOLS
WORK: The Pyramid is a club for youth aged 10-18 in the social housing project Vollsmose near Odense, Denmark. 80 different nationalities live in Vollsmose. Every year, 50 youth are involved in the travelling Circus Pyra. Circus Pyra is a real children’s circus, which means that the kids and young people perform while the adults (including the international volunteers at the workcamp) do the work backstage and give the young artists all the support they need to perform. The workcamp will be part of an international children and youth circus festival for 3 days in Odense where app. 300 young artists will meet to do street parades, workshops and circus - and have fun together. The weekend after that, Circus Pyra has a big performance for 3 days in Vollsmose. The volunteers will assist with practical tasks before, during and after the two 3 day shows, such as raising tents, hanging up posters, creating costumes, checking tickets etc. The volunteers are also welcome to help training the kids, and perhaps teach them new tricks.
ACCOMMODATION: In tents and in the youth club.
LOCATION: At a festival area in Odense (the 3rd largest city in Denmark, birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen) and in the social housing area of Vollsmose.
TERMINAL: Odense (train) via Copenhagen (plane).
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: None.
