Agira is an ancient city situated on the top of the Teja mountain. In the summit of the mountain there is an ancient castle probably from the Arabic period. Agira is situated in the heart of the natural reserve Vallone of Piano della Corte (Corte’s Plain Valley). The area is also full of churches from Normandy period. The natural reserve is one of the few places where we can find a special kind of vegetation and a lot of different animals: the fox and the weasel for the mammal’s category and for the reptile’s category we can find a strange kind of lizard and in the anphibian’s category there is the common toad. In this wonderful place the volunteers will work to realize a footpath that join the Valley and in collaboration with the University of Catania volunteers will make some naturalistic research.

Work: Rebuilding of the footpath
Terminal: The nearest airport are Catania, Reggio Calabria or Palermo.
