한국인 그룹워크캠프는 한국인 참가자들만 모집되어 참가하게 되며
자연내의 희귀종들을 살펴볼 수있는 관찰대 설치,
과학자, 관광객등 생태계를 관찰하고자 하는 사람들을 위한
장소들을 마련하는 프로젝트를 수행할 예정입니다.

또한 생태계 보전과 관련한 토론과 철새 관찰, 스쿠버등의
특별활동들이 준비되어 있으니 많은 관심 가져주시기 바랍니다.

EYES-02 OLANGO BIRDS 03/07 – 18/07 CONS/ENVI  18+(한국인 7명)

Background: First site of International voluntary service projects in the Philippines, Olango Island (Cebu region, central Philippines) is also internationally known for its particularly rich environment (migratory birds and protected marine areas). Active in the Island since 2001, EYES cooperate from its beginnings with the Olango Island Wildlife Sanctuary (Geo. Coordinates: 10°14'50.18"N, 124° 1'35.41"E) to support the fragile flora and fauna protection they are in charge with. In 2008, the regional environmental administration is also supporting the project.
Work: This year, the volunteers will contribute to the development of the infrastructures of the Sanctuary, especially by building one or several observation huts ( in stones and wood mainy) in strategic locations of the reserve to help the scientists and visitors to benefit of better observation points without disturbing the surrounding rare species, They will also introduce their countries culture and history for the intercultural learning among the participants and community.
Study theme: The volunteers will be introduced to the activities of the sanctuary, the birds migrations and nature conservation on Olango and the Philippines in general. They will also receive a presentation on Philippine culture and history.
Leisure Time: During free time, nature lovers and birdwatcher volunteers will have the chance to benefit of the full access to the sanctuary (bring your binoculars/telescope/big zoom cameras). Several sea-sports can also be practiced nearby Olango (snorkeling and scuba diving in particular)
Accommodation: The volunteers will be accommodated in Olango close to the Sanctuary in a hosting center dedicated to Voluntary service projects built in traditional materials by Volunteers in 2001. Very basic conditions. Sleeping bag and mat needed. Self cooking.
