해마다 개최가 되는 ESF(European Social Forum)는 유럽과 글로벌 이슈에 대한
내용을 토론하는 장이며, 2008년은 20,000명의 참가자들이 함께할 예정입니다.
국제자원봉사 뿐만 아니라, 국제컨퍼런스에 관심을 가지고 계신 참가자들의
참가를 권장합니다.
또한 워크캠프가 진행될 Malmö는 덴마크에 인접해 있는 스웨덴의 도시로써,
두 나라를 모두 방문해보실 수 있는 기회도 됩니다.

IKU 02 European social forum 10/09/08 to 23/09/08 – 20 vlt – FEST
From September 17th to 21st 2008 the European Social Forum (ESF) is being held in Malmö, in the south of Sweden. More than 20 000 people are expected to participate in the forum, which is a meeting place for social movements in Europe. During five days seminars and workshops will be mixed with culture, music, activism and demonstrations.
The forum will need around 1000 volunteers. IKU in cooperation with the Forum will organise two workcamps to give the possibility to volunteers to live at the same time an intercultural experience, sharing together the life of other people from all over the world.
WORK : The first camp for ESF is for people who want's to work on the technical support of the festival. The volunteers will build the tent before the festival and will work on a different technical work ( cooking the food for the vounteers, giving information to the people).
LOCATION : in Malmö, in the southwest of Sweden, just separated by a bridge and a tunnel from Copenhagen

PARTICIPATION FEES : 800 SEK =85 ?
SPECIAL REMARKS : Volunteers have to bring their sleeping bag and it is recommanded that they have a personal travel insurance. Accomodation will be very basic, so volunteers must be prepared for it (under a big tent or a gymnasium)
