Description of the partner organizing/hosting the project:

A haven of nature and a local patrimony to protect, beautify and enhance at 45 minutes from Paris.
You love nature and patrimony, and/or you’re curious to learn eco-responsible living practices, handmade constructions made of recycled materials? This green work camp is made for you.
Recycling, preserving nature and biodiversity, crafting handmade objects and eating local food will be the key words of these two weeks.
The international work camp of Evecquemont offers you an immersion in a green setting loaded with history in which ecological transition is a life style.

Description of work:

Supervised by an architect and a landscape gardener, you will participate in the revitalization and enhancement of the historic landscapes and built patrimony of Evecquemont.
For now the aim of this project is to convert a wasteland into a public green space in the heart of the village. In order to do so you will have to: build a dry stone wall according to traditional methods, build and install urban furniture (benches, armchairs, flower boxes, insect trees) from local materials (wood, metals, and stones). You will also design and construct the entrances to the village using the same methods.
You will participate in meetings with local residents on sustainable development and preservation of heritage.

Description of location and leisure:

Evecquemont (811 inhabitants) enjoys an exceptional situation overlooking the Seine Valley. Perched on the massif of Hautil and in the heart of the Regional Natural Park of French Vexin, the village is marked by the exploitation of stone quarries plaster until the middle of the twentieth century and the architecture of the medieval period. Its church, dating from the twelfth century, was built from stones extracted from these quarries. Evecquemont is today a municipality rich in history.
This municipality is located a few steps from the Hautil forest and from the Seine islands which have great potential in terms of landscapes, walks, hikes

Description of accomodation and food:

Throughout the duration of the workcamp you will be hosted in the school of the village. Mattresses will be installed in a large room with access to the kitchen, toilets and showers. You will share the different collective tasks with the other volunteers, like the preparation of meals.

Description of specific requirements: Remember to bring gloves, clothes and shoes for work. The nights can be cold, bring a nice warm sleeping bag.
