Description of the partner organizing/hosting the project:

After having bought the Buzet Castle, the Buzet winemaker’s cooperative called on Concordia to create a renovation project around this property. This 10th century castle located high up in the village of Buzet, has incredible potential. That's why this summer's project would be to clean up and renovate certain rooms in the Castle so that they can be made accessible to the public. The association created by the cooperative aims to transform the site into an eco-citizen and eco-museum space.

Description of work:

You will help to remove and clean different parts of the castle and empty one of its outbuildings. Over time, the four floors of the castle have been inhabited by several people; all types of objects from completely different times have been accumulated. On this site the project would be to clean and store them in order to open and show them to the public.

Description of location and leisure:

Buzet-sur-Baïse is a commune in the south-west of France, located in the department of Lot-et-Garonne. This village has a history based around the castle of Buzet. Both have evolved at the same time. That's why you can discover the historical and natural heritage of the region with enthusiasts who want to share their culture and their know-how. Not far from Bordeaux and the ocean, trips around the region may be scheduled.

Description of accomodation and food:

You will be accommodated in tents, with sanitary facilities, kitchen and collective living room where you will find a beautiful view of the surrounding countryside. You will share the different collective tasks and prepare meals together. A budget will be allocated to the camp leaders and you will participate in the shopping and the preparation of meals, giving priority to healthy and local products.

Description of specific requirements: Bring a warm sleeping bag, work clothes, sneakers, warm clothing and rain gear, a flashlight, a swimsuit and sunscreen. If you wish, you can bring musical instruments, recipes, games and / or specialties from your region or country.
