We are organizing this project in cooperation with Demre Municipality and Antalya Metropolitan Municipality. Antalya Metropolitan Municipality is a successful municipality in social municipality and supports International Voluntary Service. Description of work:
Volunteers will conduct environmental and cultural studies in DEMRE, one of the current parts of the ancient Lycian Civilization. Maritime and sea trade have become a culture of thousands of years in this region since the Lycian and Phoenician civilizations, and for this reason a cabotage festival is held every year. Volunteers will take part in the preparation and organization of the festival.
They will also be involved in the cleaning and arrangement of the famous Lycian Way. The ancient Lycian Way is under threat due to highway construction in the region. The work to be done by the volunteers will raise awareness. The region is also the region of the Caretta sea turtles. There are also auxiliary works related to turtles.
There are many ancient structures and natural beauties in Demre that volunteers can visit and contribute to.

Description of location and leisure:
Antalya is one of the most touristic cities in Turkey. There are countless historical and natural beauties worth seeing in this region. It has world-famous beaches. Antalya airport is a very busy airport. You can probably find a flight here from where you are or come with a transfer in Istanbul. There are many sightseeing and cultural activities waiting for you in Antalya.

Description of accommodation and food:
Volunteers will stay in a dormitory in the municipality's guesthouse. Due to the warm Mediterranean climate, the rooms have air conditioning. There is a bathroom, toilet, kitchen and common area. Volunteers will prepare their own breakfast, and lunch and dinner will be provided by the municipality.
