Project
Prangli is an island located in Baltic Sea in Northern Estonia. It’s a small gem with beautiful and diverse nature, hospitable inhabitants with its own traditions. The first records of this island originated from 1387 when the island had name Rango. The area of Prangli island is only 6,44 km² and approximately 80 people live there all year around. There is a small church on the island that was built on 1848, a school with 8 students and a community house. For tourists there is a restaurant that is open only in summer season, folk museum and nature museum run by locals to introduce the history and the wildlife of this small unique island. International volunteers are invited to help the maintenance of these museums. And as there will be a children nature camp on the island at the same time volunteers will be asked to help out there introducing their countries and cultures to kids. Work
Volunteers will help restoration of exhibits of the Island museums, fix elements of museum buildings and work in the garden. There will be a summer camp for children held on the same time, where volunteers are asked to assist playing fun games and presenting own countries. Age of children 7-9. The working time will be around 6-8 hours a day. Work will be done under the supervision of the local host.

Location
Prangli Museum is located on Prangli island, which belongs to Viimsi Parish in Harjumaa country. The island is situated in the northern part of Estonia, approximately 30 km from the capital city Tallinn.

Terminal
Airport, harbour, bus station in Tallinn. Local bus to Leppneeme harbour and boat to the Island of Prangli. You have to arrive to Tallinn in the afternoon of 7.07, the departure is scheduled to 15.07 at 16:00.

Accommodation
Accommodation is in a house. Please bring your sleeping bag. Dry toilet outside house, washing facilities in sauna. Food ingredients will be provided by local host and volunteers will cook for themselves.

Participation fee

We ask participants to contribute 30 Euro each towards the costs of general administration. This fee has to be paid by bank transfer before the beginning of the camp. If you cannot make bank transfer please contact your organization.

Special requirements
You have to be motivated, open-minded, creative and ready to adapt to the simple conditions of the common life on the tiny island.

Leisure time
The nature in Prangli is untouched and stunning. There are many natural picturesque sights on the island, good possibilities for swimming in the sea or hiking in the forest. This camp is perfect for people who enjoy being close to the nature and are interested in traditional way of living. Boat sea trip is planned!
