Description of the partner organizing/hosting the project:
The Château de Bruzac has been a co-castle for centuries. Indeed, since the 13th century, it has been the seat of a co-lordship following a complicated succession. So complex that until the revolution, it remained separated into two sets of habitats within the same fortified enclosure despite the various occupations, wars and revolts. After the French Revolution and the evictions of the noble families of the site, the castle will serve as a career for the inhabitants of the village of Saint Pierre de Côle and the surrounding farms. For about thirty years, it has belonged to a couple of History enthusiasts and is managed and promoted by the local association "Renaissance du Vieux Bruzac". It is with its members that you will have the opportunity to create a medieval garden between the "castrum superius" and the "castrum inferius" and to strengthen them.
With this History-loving association, you will also have the opportunity to discover how we cooked in the Middle Ages and the Renaissance, to participate in costumed entertainment times and to visit the Dordogne, land of gastronomy and history.
Description of work:
You will create a medieval square, typical garden of monasteries and herbalists of this period. Clearing and earthworking of the open-air theater space will be your missions. You will make chestnut wattle and plant vegetation.

Description of the partner organizing/hosting the project:
Located at the mouth of the Charente, the Fouras peninsula is home to 3 ports and 5 beaches of the Atlantic coast. In an idyllic setting with a view of Fort Boyard, the workcamp will consist of the renovation of the Vauban fort, also called the Semaphore fort, which is the medieval fortified castle of Fouras. It protected the city from a possible invasion from an enemy landing by the ocean. It is surrounded by 17th century fortifications: platforms, curtain walls and massive tower. This workcamp is part of the continuity of the partnership with the town of Fouras and its desire to pursue local development actions through the intercultural dynamics allowed by the workcamps. Your actions will be in accordance with the objective 11 of sustainable development (UN) in favor of sustainable cities and communities.
Description of work:
You will work during 7 mornings of 6 hours on the restoration of a new part of the North facade of the redoute (fort), facing the Atlantic Ocean. You will have the task of removing the vegetation from the facade and the coping in order to then remove the pointing and repointing with lime mortar. Other traditional masonry work such as the reworking of stone copings and stone cutting is planned. In addition, you will participate in workshops to raise awareness on interculturality and sustainable development.

Description of location and leisure:
Fouras-les-Bains, 20 km from La Rochelle.
You can enjoy many water activities, such as fishing and sailing with the local clubs. The beach, seaside bike rides, beach volleyball and other pleasures are to be discovered. You can also visit museums and towns such as La Rochelle and Rochefort. The highlights of the stay will be meeting the locals who are looking forward to meeting you, especially enjoying an international meal.

Meeting Point and Time: From Bordeaux airport, you will take a shuttle to Bordeaux train station and go to Rochefort. From Rochefort, please take the G line bus to go to Fouras-La Fumée. You will be able to walk from there to the campsite: Camping Le Cadoret in Fouras where we will meet you at 6pm.
Description of accommodation and food:
It will be collective, under tents at the Fouras campsite (pool, multi-sports area, WIFI, snack...) You will have a vehicle available for all mobility in the region. Food will be provided for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (you have a food budget which the campleaders will manage and communicate with you throughout the workcamp). The meals will be prepared, in turn, by the group while respecting environmental values and local resources, as well as the culture of each and everyone. Vegetarian and vegan options can be prepared.

Description of the partner organizing/hosting the project:
Clion-sur-Seugne is a rural municipality in the Charente Maritime region. In partnership with the Maison des Bateleurs - Solidarités Jeunesses, the town council plans to create an intercultural link between international volunteers and the inhabitants of the village, especially the children. Thus, the renovation of a shelter on a communal ground will initiate this joyful meeting!
Description of work:
Together with a technical supervisor, you will work on the restoration of the framework of a shed located in a field used collectively by the inhabitants of the village. In parallel, intercultural activities will take place between the children of the village and your team.

You can enjoy many cultural activities such as visiting historical towns such as Jonzac, Blaye, Rochefort, La Rochelle, Bordeaux, among others. You can also visit the surrounding forests or enjoy a good time at the beach on the Gironde coast and meet local producers.

Collective accommodation, in tents of two individual places in a field provided by the town hall, where you will have at your disposal a kitchen, a dining room. Showers are in the football stadium at 5 minutes on foot. You will have bicycles to go to the workcamp site (5 minutes away from the accommodation). There will also be a vehicle at your disposal to discover the beautiful areas of the region. Food will be provided for breakfast, lunch, and dinner (you will have a food budget which the leaders will manage and communicate with you throughout the camp). Meals will be prepared, in turn by the group, while respecting environmental values and local resources, as well as the culture of each person (hot and cold dishes as well as vegetarian and vegan dishes will be prepared).

Description of the partner organizing/hosting the project:
Carpenters, woodworkers... any volunteer? In the heart of the Dordogne region, in the beautiful village of Cause de Clérans, join this international workcamp to discover woodworking. On the program, construction time around carpentry, the discovery of the region and the meeting with the inhabitants of the village. Your small international group will inaugurate the summer season that we will be hosting. You will be actors in this collective experience, come with your motivation and your desire to meet to make this moment unforgettable.
Description of work:
Whether you are a novice or have some basic knowledge in the field, together you will participate in the creation of a wooden door for a municipal building and in moments of discovery or experimentation of woodworking techniques and machines on related projects (dry toilets, compost bin, small furniture, ...) Intercultural workshops will also be organised.
You will work from Monday to Friday, in the morning.
The place where the project/workcamp will take place: Cause de Clérans
Description of location and leisure:
You will be welcomed on the edge of the village of Cause de Clérans, in a rural environment and you will meet the inhabitants of the area. You will also have the opportunity to go and participate in cultural events in Bergerac, about fifteen kilometres away.
Leisure activities: You will build your activity program together, based on the possible outdoor activities around us.

You will stay in a tent on our summer camp and its beautiful panorama. Access to toilets and showers on site. Individual tents or tents for two people will be provided, as well as ground mattresses. Remember to bring your sleeping bag and a pillow.
You will prepare menus and meals together, taking into account the season, everyone's needs and the pleasure of sharing together.

The municipality has been developing a large project to restore its local heritage, especially through international workcamps. For over 6 years the volunteers of Concordia and from the whole world have been renovating old streets, washhouses, fountains, and hiking trails.
Description of work:
From Luz-Saint-Sauveur, the Pyrenees Mountains are all yours. All the best hiking sites, peaks and highlands are easily accessible. Here, you will find the freedom to breathe freely, move, broaden your horizon and enjoy!
Luz-Saint-Sauveur was a thermal hub for the noble and wealthy throughout the 1800s : the medicinal bathing sites attracted emperors, artists, intellectuals and more. Amongst the historical figures that often-visited Luz was the French emperor Napoleon III (grandson of Napoleon Bonaparte). Fallen in love with the town in the mountains he encouraged its development throughout the 1860s. Today Luz is perhaps the best-conserved heritage from that era in France and elsewhere.
The great writer Victor Hugo described Luz as a “charming old town… beautifully situated in a deep triangular valley… When the miquelets (Catalan militia men) and Spanish smugglers arrived from Aragon … they saw a great light… They named this town light, or Luz.”
You job will consist for the requalification of the entrance to the municipal swimming pool . You will learn the art of masonry and revegetation techniques, to enhance the space and make it accessible for everyone. Throughout your whole stay, you will be accompanied by a 2 camps leaders, one being a technical facilitator who will teach you and help you master the techniques of traditional masonry.

Luz Saint Sauveur is in the Hautes-Pyrenees County, south-west of France near the pilgrimage city of Lourdes. It is close to the most beautiful natural sites of the Pyrenees Mountains: Midi Peak, Gavarnie Valley, Bridge of Spain, Neouvielle Natural Park, Pyrenees National Park (with many highland lakes).
The beauty and diversity of this county presents a great historical, architectural and environmental interest.

Meeting Point and Time: The meeting point is set at the LUZ-SAINT-SAUVEUR - tourist office bus station, on the 7th of June at 6 PM. Once you reach LOURDES train station (direct trains from PARIS, TOULOUSE, and BORDEAUX), take the bus n°965 to LUZ-SAINT-SAUVEUR (about 30 minutes). From PARIS, you can reach LOURDES from the Montparnasse train station. LUZ-SAINT-SAUVEUR is also accessible by the night train for those who would like to try it! The trains are open to booking about 4 months before the departure dates, accessible on the following website: https://www.sncf-connect.com/en-en/ If you are coming first by plane, remember that you will need some time to commute from the airport to the train station, therefore we recommend that you arrive early enough for you not to rush and have a stress free travel. If possible, please consider using low-carbon transportation (train and bus rather than airplane) for a sustainable international workcamp.

You will be accommodated in a local apartment building with mixed shared rooms – bring your sleeping bags - with showers and toilets. The group will share the cleaning tasks and prepare meals together. You will prepare the meals in shifts and participate in the organization of the collective life (planning, cleaning, shopping, etc.). We will encourage the purchase of local and seasonal products. Wifi is available at the tourist office but not at the accommodation. A laundry is available near the accommodation (paying service).

Description of specific requirements: Foreigners from the European Union must bring their personal EHIC (European Health Insurance Card), and all participants must bring their insurance certificate. If health issues arise during the program, volunteers will need to cover all costs; they will be reimbursed upon their return to their home country.

Short remarks for the project:
Bring working clothes, gloves, and closed shoes. Bring a warm sleeping bag, as nights might be cold due to the altitude and we may also sleep in the mountains if we organizing outings. To enjoy the mountains, bring your trekking shoes. For the brave ones who want to take a dip in the river, bring your swimming suit. A sunscreen is also recommended for the ones with sensitive skins. Feel free to bring activities from home such as photos, games, musical instruments, etc.

Montendre is an attractive town in the south-west of France, which in 2001 saw the birth of the "FREE Music Festival", an artistic event of contemporary music, a source of development and local dynamism, which has contributed to the cultural blossoming of this pretty town. The international workcamp, at the heart of the festival, brings an intercultural dimension rich in artistic and intergenerational exchanges. You will take part to the 21st edition of the festival!
Description of work:
You will work with the volunteers to prepare and set up the festival and its facilities (parking, camping, food/rest/volunteer areas, etc.) Your tasks will be to set up the park and make it attractive to the public and to help the volunteers with the logistics of the event. After the festival, you will help to clean and tidy up the site in a friendly and supportive atmosphere.

Montendre, 75 km from Bordeaux.
At the crossroads of several villages, you can take full advantage of the local heritage. Outside of work, you can take part in summer activities such as the music festival, night markets and visits to producers and tasting of their local products. Outings to the city, Bordeaux, La Rochelle or Angoulême and a day at the ocean can be organised. Cognac and St-Emilion, the French wine cities, are also nearby!

in tents (of 2 people), at the Bateleurs International Guest House, in Montendre, where you will have all the facilities at your disposal. You will have access to a vehicle for transport to the site and also to discover the region. Food will be provided for breakfast, lunch and dinner (you will have a food budget that the leaders will manage and communicate with you throughout the workcamp). Meals will be prepared, in turns by the group, while respecting environmental values. During the first week you will have lunch at the Maison des Bateleurs, for the second and third weeks you will have lunch with the festival team (there will be a caterer on site with different menus to satisfy your appetite either vegetarian, vegan or other).

Come and discover one of the small perched towns in the South of France: Serres in the Alpes, which offers a magnificent panorama of the medium mountain range of the Baronnies Provençales! The town, leaning against the Pignolette rock, is made up of small shady medieval streets and covered and sloping passages in which it is good to stroll. At the top of this village and at the bend in the monks' path, is the chapel of Notre Dame de Bon Secours, which overlooks the Buëch valley. This building was erected in 1730 and blessed in 1732. Partly dug into the rock, it marries the hillside, on the presumed site of the former chapel of the castle of Serres. The Baronnies Provençales Regional Nature Park, in partnership with the association Les Villages des Jeunes and a hiking organisation, launched an operation to raise awareness and promote the drystone building technique in 2018. Elected officials and inhabitants will be mobilised for this workcamp through restoration actions and discoveries of the dry-stone built heritage (conference, visit).
Description of work:
Do you want to learn ancient stonework techniques and to register your action in accordance with the objective 12 of sustainable development (UN) in favor of sustainable consumption and production and learn how to use ancient and ecological materials?
The "Sentier des Moines" (monks' path) winds along the hillside below the chapel; it is supported by dry stone retaining walls and has a stone-covered path, called a "calade" in southeast France. This year, it is a portion of the alley of Fusains which joins the path of the Monks that it will be necessary to continue to rehabilitate in dry stone in order to give again its initial aspect in a preoccupation with the valorisation of the heritage of Serres.
The following work will be undertaken: fishing and sorting of stones, earthwork and construction of the calade according to the very precise technique of dry stone construction (theoretical and practical contribution).
The workcamp will be supervised by a professional in dry stone construction techniques. A daily work of 6 hours is planned, the daily organisation will be discussed and decided by the group of participants. The pedagogical objective is to discover a traditional construction technique which does not require any material, except stones from the stoning of fields intended for agriculture or recovered from old buildings. Theoretical, historical, and practical contributions will be disseminated. It should be noted that this workcamp is part of a more global action to enhance the site of the chapel. The population of the village is invited to take part in the work of clearing the brush and creating a calade on the chapel square.

Serres is a small town in the South of France, nestled between the Alps and Haute Provence (30 km North of Sisteron, 140 km South of Grenoble). It has several services: train station, shops, Provençal market...
Land of light, scents, and flavours, the Baronnies Provençal is a land where the sweetness of life is combined with the practice of outdoor sports like idleness! Rich in natural and agricultural heritages adapted to the Mediterranean climate under alpine influence, the Provencal Baronnies are marked by fragrant, aromatic and medicinal plants: wild thyme, rosemary, lavender. Near Serres, you can discover many major sites in the south of the Hautes-Alpes: Aujour mountain and Clausonne abbey, Saint-Genis mountain, the Méouge gorges, Orpierre site, the Riou lake where you can practice many sports activities (climbing, mountain biking, hiking, swimming in lakes and rivers).

You will be accommodated in individual tents next to the municipal gymnasium of the small town (1km from the workcamp site, walking distance). A team of campleaders will be present to guide you in the organisation of the collective life: planning of the household tasks, elaboration of the menus and preparation of the meals in turn (vegetarian, vegan and other specific diets possible), organisation of the leisure activities and the outings. The purchase of local products is widely favoured. Bring a mattress, a good comforter (the nights can be cold) and a pillow (to be adapted according to your needs).

The historical particularity of the municipality of Cause de Clérans comes from its two villages "Cause" and "Clérans" which have been united for a very long time. The first one has a defensive function with the castle and the other one a religious function with its church. Our international workcamp is waiting for you to perpetuate this thousand-year-old link. Together, we will take part in the maintenance of the hiking trails that link these villages and will take care of their small heritage. Description of work:
You will participate in the maintenance of the footpaths: management of trees and invasive vegetation on the paths and maintenance of the small heritage around the paths, such as dry stone walls or crosses. Finally, you will be in charge of the enhancement of the heritage of the old cemetery: surrounding wall and tombstone. The work will take place exclusively outdoors, in the morning, from Monday to Friday.

Description of the partner organizing/hosting the project:
Neige & Merveilles welcomes you in the heart of the Mercantour National Park at an altitude of 1500 m to work in the Vallauria mine which is part of the archaeological, historical, cultural and scientific heritage of the region (Alpes-Maritimes). This silver lead and zinc mine justifies the mining archaeology studies and the safeguarding and development work that we have been carrying out with the municipality of Tende for the last ten years. Its medieval part represents an exceptional geological heritage, inseparable from that represented by the Mercantour Park and the archaeological wealth of the mythical Vallée des Merveilles, a site soon to be classified as a UNESCO site, located two hours away.
Description of work:
The aim of this finishing work on the access path to the "Pozetto" gallery is to ensure that the entire route is attractive and safe for visitors to the mining site. You will be responsible for assembling and installing safety barriers and a chestnut plessis screen attached to a row of vertical posts anchored in the rock. You will work 4 days a week, from 8.30am to 12pm and from 2pm to 5pm.
The place where the project/workcamp will take place: Tende
Description of location and leisure:
Tende, located 2 hours from Nice (by train). The site is isolated in the mountains (1500m altitude), 10km from the village of Tende and 50km from Ventimiglia (Italy).
In addition to weekends, one day in the middle of each week will be devoted to discovery and entertainment activities. You will discover the mountain environment (fauna, flora, hiking on the archaeological site of the Vallée des Merveilles in the Mercantour National Park) and the historical and cultural heritage of the region (visit of the medieval villages of the Roya valley). You can also do sports activities (tree climbing, via-ferrata)

You will be accommodated in rooms of 4 to 6 people with sanitary facilities. Meals will be prepared by the volunteer team with the help of the campleader. You will help to tidy up the dining room, the dishes, and the kitchen.
