    Description of the partner organizing/hosting the project:

    The camp host is an association Opastyopaja working in the social work field. They are going to open a rehabilitation centre Kukukuu in the Autumn. The purpose of the residential centre is to support young adults with difficulties for rehabilitation periods.This camp is a part of the project European Youth in Action: policymakers for climate justice, supported by the CERV programme, improving competences in concrete actions for climate justice. The horizontal theme of this camp is sustainability, greenwashing and circular economy.

    Description of work:

    During the camp the volunteers will assist in renovating a building which will become a rehabilitation center for youngsters and young adults with different challenges. The rehab centre Kukukuu will open in the autumn and there is still work to be done in the building and yard to make it ready for the new residents. The volunteers should be ready to get their hands dirty as they will be painting the bedrooms, planting a nice garden, and working in the yard and the greenhouse. The volunteers will also be able to practise their skills in upcycling by fixing and decorating textiles such as recycled T-shirts.

    Description of location and leisure:

    Camp and 769;s location is Kuru, 55 kilometres from the nearest big city, Tampere. Kuru is a pretty traditional small village of 3000 habitants but in summertime habitants triple because of the summer residents move to their cottages. Kuru has beautiful nature with lakes and forests. There are hiking trails nearby as well as a national park Seitseminen. The volunteers will have a chance to visit the historical sights in Tampere.

    The old Koroinen community farm on the banks of the Aura River is owned by City of Turku and maintained by the Koroinen Association of Living Culture which promotes the wellbeing of both the environment and people, community spirit, craftsmanship, sustainable use of natural materials, and ecological farming and lifestyle.We organize cultural events open to the public, volunteer work, and offer a variety of courses. This camp is a part of the project European Youth in Action: policymakers for climate justice, supported by the CERV programme, improving competences in concrete actions for climate justice. The horizontal theme of this camp is biodiversity.

    Description of location and leisure:
    Turku is a beautiful old seaside city which used to be the capital of Finland before Helsinki. It is located 150 km from Helsinki and is also easily accessible by ferry from Sweden. In case you are flying, there is also a small airport in Turku, but it is easier to fly to Helsinki and then take a train or bus to Turku.Koroinen historical farm is a nature location, on the beautiful river side valley of Aura-river. The farm is located less than 2 km of the city center. Walking and bicycle trails to the city center and upstream theriverside pass through the farm. Koroinen farm is permaculture center and a transition movement actor with 25 years long history of sustainable development work. On the farm can be found community gardening, plotgardening, crafts workshops, biodiversity art park, sauna, swimming in the river, rowing boat, bicycles and lots of community members.

    Finnish Development NGOs Fingo is the umbrella organisation of 270 Finnish civil society organisations (CSOs) engaged in development cooperation, sustainable development and global citizenship education. Fingo and its Member Organisations promote sustainable development and global justice and work to make life fairer i everywhere. Fingo organizes the yearly World Village Festival which is Finland s leading event for global action for the whole family, a free cultural festival, a food carnival and a trade fair for sustainable development. World Village raises global challenges and solutions, increases understanding and provides concrete ways to take action to create change. Expected number of visitors is 50 000 during the weekend 24.-25.5. There will be dozens of program concerts, discussions, workshops. In the festival area hundreds of different organisations and institutions and other actors present their work. This camp is a part of the project European Youth in Action: policymakers for climate justice, supported by the CERV programme, improving competences in concrete actions for climate justice. The horizontal theme of this camp is environmental responsibility and greenwashing.

    Description of work:

    World Village Festival is committed to continually improving its environmental efforts. There is only vegetarian food for sale. The festival strives to minimize waste, allowing only recyclable containers. The festival is committed to recycling all waste. The volunteers of the festival are carrying out several different tasks. The first three days the festival area is built up. This means carrying fences and tables, setting up tents, installing signs and banners, distributing the waste containers and helping with area decoration. During the festival days many volunteers are needed in the team which keeps the festival area tidy and in the recycling team which takes care that the different types of litter end in the right containers. After the festival, volunteers work with take-down work such as taking down banners, signs and decorations. After the festival volunteers will move to a seaside camp centre and have time to relax and discuss the study theme which is environmental responsibility and greenwashing.

    The camp happens in Helsinki, the capital of Finland. Suvilahti event area which is a former power plant area that has been taken over by several cultural actors for festivals and events. Volunteers will get to enjoy nature and the sea which are never far away in Helsinki.

    Description of the partner organizing/hosting the project:

    Vantaan Jarjestorinki is an organization that supports and connects associations in Vantaa. It serves as a network for local groups and works to improve the conditions for associations by organizing networking meetings, training sessions, and offering free meeting spaces at the Leinikki Civic Activity Center in Simonkyla. They also organize free weekly community events, ranging from a crafts club, community cafe, Men s group, Senior cafe, children s afternoon club, and similar activities to people living in the area.

    Description of work:

    From Spring to Autumn our electronic Babboe coffee bike roams around providing people free of charge refreshments, food and a place to chat and connect with local people. The food is surplus food from wholesalers prepared by Leinikki. During summer they also have a children s summer camp where volunteers play games and do crafts with children aged 7-11 years old. The volunteers will contribute to both of these projects while having an exciting opportunity to be a part of our community. They will get to be part of the camp, play football and other games, and spend time outside with the children. The volunteers will also be riding the electronic coffee bike so they can have a nice chat with people and provide them refreshments.

    Simonkyla is close to Tikkurila in Vantaa, adjacent to Helsinki, renowned for its cultural attractions and recreational facilities. Nature is nearby: a forest with gym equipment is right around the corner and there is a national park with a lake for swimming, and kayaking. Volunteers can borrow bicycles for the duration of the camp in order to explore the area.

    The local host is an association located in a small Uukuniemi village. They maintain a community center and organize various events at the local school and in the surrounding area.

    Description of work:
    The work for volunteers is designed to be diverse. On rainy days, tasks include cleaning and organizing the school and its garden. On sunny days, volunteers will remove invasive plant species (such as wild lupine and Himalayan balsam) from roadsides and clear overgrown areas.Additionally, volunteers will assist in setting up and dismantling traditional celebration events, helping in the community cafe, and other related tasks. The work is a mix of hands-on outdoor activities and indoor maintenance, ensuring a meaningful and engaging experience for all participants. Most importantly the volunteers will be able to immerse themselves into this lively and welcoming community with rich cultural traditions.

    Pitkis-Sport is the largest children s sport camp in Finland, with hundreds of participants and a large number of national volunteers. This year the theme of the camp will be nature. The kids will be able to try over 40 different sports activities during the camp. The program includes e.g. rugby, American football, lacrosse, taekwondo, Sport Chanbara and Highland Games. The ages of the children participating in the camp will be mainly between 7 and 15 years old.

    Description of work:

    The volunteers will act as assistant sport instructors in the English speaking children camp, where the kids can try a variety of sports. The volunteers will be working with a group of children who speak English as their mother tongue or want to learn English. Their tasks involve guiding the children in the camp area, helping with meals and transitions. The volunteers make sure that the children move safely in the area, stick to the schedule and act according to the rules. The volunteers will also assist the cooking team to prepare breakfast for the children and distribute food. Working clothes will be provided by the camp host.

    Pitkajarvi is a lake close to the town of Kokemaki about 200 km north-west from Helsinki. Kokemaki is a beautiful small town with a long history. Pitkajarvi is a popular spot for recreational activities. There are two national parks nearby and other interesting sights that the volunteers can visit during their free time.

    The Cultural Organisation of Tipula pursues to provide the residences for artists from various fields and develop the activity based on the needs of the creative work. They also organize concerts, camps and events in Tipula and further productions of publications and exhibitions. The organization upkeeps an old garden of self-grown and near-by produced food, surrounded by forests, old farmland and wheatfields. Their goal is to reach out to create international bonds, to enhance ecological values and sustainable, environmentally friendly way of life.     Description of work:

    During the first week of the camp the volunteers will do gardening work and prepare for the Open Gardens -event. During the second week the participants will renovate and paint old barn doors. The volunteers will get to know the sustainable way of living of the host organisation and learn more about the themes of the camp through tasks and activities.

    Architecture and environmental culture school Lastu is an art and construction activity center in Lapinlahti. It was founded in 1993 and is maintained by an association. Their mission is to support and develop architectural and environmental cultural education and promote the appreciation, understanding and nurturing of old and newer built cultural heritage. Their aim is to help people to create a relationship with nature and offer tools to nurture and care for the environment.This camp is a part of the project European Youth in Action: policymakers for climate justice, supported by the CERV programme, improving competences in concrete actions for climate justice. The horizontal theme of this camp is biodiversity.

    Description of work:

    The volunteers will have tasks that help increase biodiversity in the areas surrounding Lastu and other sites nearby. This will be achieved by building living fences, building pens and shelters for sheep, and creating works of art from living materials. The volunteers will also be creating moss graffiti and seed bombs. They will help the host with sustainable renovation of buildings and also try out textile repair and patching by sewing durable bags. The volunteers can delve into traditional skills such as carpet weaving and spinning in workshops during a local one day family event called Vasikkasavut.

    Lapinlahti is a small municipality with around 9000 inhabitants located in an area called Northern Savonia. The area has lots of beautiful nature, and is famous for having lots of forest and lakes. During the free time, it is possible to go swimming in the lake, visit art museums, flea markets, shops, a parkour park, outdoor gym, and discover different nature attractions and hiking trails nearby.

    ● 주요내용

    Description of the partner organizing/hosting the project:

    The local host is an association that maintains the Alpo savannah which is a sculpture park created by DIY artist Alpo Koivumaki. They repair, restore and preserve the sculptures he made from waste materials. They want the sculptures to be admired by visitors in the future as well.This camp is a part of the project European Youth in Action: policymakers for climate justice, supported by the CERV programme, improving competences in concrete actions for climate justice. The horizontal theme of this camp is energy transition.

    Description of work:

    The participants will clear and tidy the environment and separate waste materials for future use or for recycling. One day volunteers will have a workshop on how to make art from recycled materials. The host is very nice and innovative and takes good care of the volunteers. They will organise interesting visits to nearby sights and events. The energy transition topic will be shared and discussed. There will be some interesting visits to local energy sources such as fuel peat producers who are changing their activities from fuel peat to more sustainable options.

    Description of location and leisure:

    The Alpo savannah is located in a rural setting in the village of Nummijarvi far from shopping centers and city life, but with great surrounding nature. Finnish idyll at its best. The nearest town Kauhajoki is 30 kilometers away.

    The nearest airport: HEL in Helsinki,Finland
    The nearest terminal (train-, bus-, taxi station): Kauhajoki
    Meeting Point and Time: Helsinki-Vantaa airport. Helsinki can also be reached by ferry. It takes about 4-5h to reach Kauhajoki from Helsinki.

    Description of accommodation and food:

    Shared accommodation in a cottage by a small clear lake within a walking distance from Alpo Savannah. The cottage has a sauna and a good beach for swimming. All meals will be plant based and cooked together.

    Description of specific requirements: The volunteers need travel insurance for the duration of their stay. The EYA project is primarily targeted to European volunteers. Volunteers traveling by land (bus or train) for most of their journey will be eligible for a travel grant up to 100euro.
