Short remarks for the project:
You will spend a lot of time outdoors so you can get into contact with different kinds of plants, herbs, pollen, and insects (risk for people with allergies). The project is suitable for everyone interested in the environment and its protection.
This workcamp is organized in cooperation with the Association for Jizera Mountains operating in the Jizera Mountains since 1999. The association runs an eco-centre in the middle of the forest where they plant trees, restore tourist infrastructure and offer educational programs drawing children and adults into the adventure of exploring nature. Currently, they are setting up a new eco-centre in Hrabetice, part of the village of Janov nad Nisou. The aim of the workcamp is to help with the establishment of the new eco-centre and create better facilities for outdoor activities, to mow meadows and cut out woody plants around the eco-centre. At this workcamp, you will actively contribute to the achievement of UN SDG11 Sustainable Cities and Communities and UN SDG15 Life on Land.
Making of a stage (cutting, grinding, hammering, drilling and laying of wooden boards), preparing of an obstacle course in the "forest playground" (designing the route, making of wooden and rope obstacles), mowing meadows (using a brush cutter, raking, removal of woody plants). (overalls, gloves, sturdy shoes). Since most of the work will be outdoors, we recommend volunteers to bring suitable clothes that can get dirty or damaged, proper shoes and a raincoat.
